Elderberry plants bloom in early to midsummer to provide a harvest from July through September. Fresh, ripe elderberries can be tart, tangy or bitter. Intense in color, elderberries are packed with antioxidants and vitamins that can boost your immune system. They are mostly used in desserts – cupcakes, jams, jellies, and juices.
